how long have you been shooting? what's your background?
I began exploring photography in 2014 while finishing up my Marketing degree. I worked as a Marketing Coordinator for a bit over a year, but I quickly realized my growing passion for photography so I decided to make the jump to full time in February 2017 and haven't looked back since!.

my wedding packages start at $3995 & my associate wedding packages start at $3495
how many packages do you offer?
i offer three different wedding packages - a silver, gold, & platinum
how many photos do i get?
for weddings, i deliver anywhere between 1000-1300 photos. for engagement sessions i deliver anywhere between 200-300.
is an engagement session included?
an engagement session is included with the gold and platinum packages
do you shoot digital or film? what form do you deliver in?
i shoot digital and deliver via an online gallery! if you would like prints, you can order through the online gallery i deliver. Otherwise, I also always list recommendations for high quality printing services in my delivery email.
i've contacted you, but I haven't heard a response. Did my form not work?
After submitting a form, you will receive a confirmation email that includes a copy of your submitted form. If your form didn't seem to go through, or if you haven't heard back in a while, you may email me directly at contact@nicolecastonguay.com. Unless it is a National Holiday, I typically answer all emails within 72 business hours. If I am busy and/or foresee any delays in email responses, I always update my Instagram stories to let clients when they can expect to hear back!
do you travel?
Definitely! My bags are packed and my passport is up to date, so just say the word! Or maybe you're just not sure where to go? Check out my bucket list for beautiful locations that I'm dying to visit— and that I offer special rates on!
do you have backup equipment?
Yes! I have two flashes, three cameras, four lenses, and too many extra memory cards to count. I know just how much each shot means, so I wouldn't ever risk missing your most precious moments due to "technical difficulties".
do you do retouching?
I do any minor retouching (a few pesky zits or fly aways), but for more in-depth retouching I charge $5 per photo.
what are the details of each package?
after your initial inquiry, if i have your date open, i will send a more detailed guide and contract that includes my package/pricing menu, location options, and more. for wedding inquiries, we'll also meet to determine if we are a good fit and i'll share more about my process and style!
where can I view your portfolio?
my instagram is a good example of my recent (and favorite!) work in a single place, but to view entire weddings, either ask to see whole albums or check out my blog for some of my favorite moments.
we don't have our wedding date scheduled yet, but we really want to book with you! should we reach out and let you know?!
Gah! This is the toughest for me, because honestly, I can't guarantee that I'll be available without knowing your date! My advice is to pick your date (or find your venue) as soon as possible so I can get you on my calendar.
is there a price change for elopements?
Elopements are my favorite! If you're headed to one of my bucket list locations, I would be willing to work around your budget! For any other destination locations, I will quote you a price for my flight, lodging, and meals, but the package price remains the same.
do you offer discounted prices if I don't need the full 8 hour wedding coverage?
I typically do not shoot half-day weddings because it makes me unable to book a full-day wedding. I sometimes do make exceptions, though, for weddings during my slower months (January - March) or on a M-Th weekday.
do you use a second shooter?
If you book a second shooter, I will coordinate with another experienced and reliable second photographer, and ensure they are there to capture different angles and any moments I may miss. If you do not, I still sometimes bring second shooters who have reached out in to me seeking more experience and/or portfolio growth. In this case, you would get all of their shots also.
when can we expect to get our photos by? how many are delivered?
i know you want to see them, like, now! i totally get it. good news: editing is my favorite part of photography- it makes me so giddy when I see every gorgeous shot and I tweak the colors just right- and I can barely wait to share them with you guys!! Full wedding albums are delivered within 6-8 weeks after your wedding, receiving around 1200 photos. Engagements will be delivered within 1-2 weeks with 200-300 photos. BUT, don't fret! For weddings, I pretty much always send sneak peaks to hold you (us) over in the mean time!
do you charge for rescheduling or cancellation?
no, but I retain the down payment that held the wedding date. depending on the reason for rescheduling or engagement session cancellation, i charge a $100 fee.
can I do two separate engagement shoots if we split the time in half?
similar to half wedding days, I do not split them due to the inability to then book another shoot on said date (especially during busy seasons where most of my brides need to do their Engagements for their "Save the Date"). Still, you can shoot in up to 3 outfits, and I can recommend settings that have more than one kind of scenery!
is there a price change for out-of-town engagement shoots?
Yes; I am out of Minneapolis, so if you are more than 30mi from the Twin Cities, I charge a mileage fee. If it's a plane ride away i charge for my flight, lodging, general transportation and meals.
